Lovely holiday home in one of the most beautiful villages of France
The house is in a village on a rock in the National Parc du Haut Languedoc between Saint Pons-deThomières and Bédarieux on the D908. The village has about 600 inhabitants, is classified as a Cité Médiéval and known as one of the most beautiful villages of France. Embraced by the river Le Jaur, with a stunning view over the valley. Nearby is Saint Vincent-d'Olargues, another Cité Médiéval with protected buildings. In the village itself there are the most important shops and services, like bakery, butcher, general store, GP, Tourist Office, Bank etc. The nearest supermarkets, like Super U, Intermarché and Ecomarché are at about 25 minutes.
The house
The natural stone home was built with the remains of a castle that used to dominate the valley and of which only a tower is standing today. The house is sitting on a small plot of 60m2 slightly above the village. It has 60cm thick walls and a pleasant shadowy terrace of about 16m2 under an old tree.
The inhabitable part counts two levels of 19m2 with below a cave' of 12m2. Here we find the electricity and water mains. Entrance on the top floor, with a living room with kitchen corner. Corner stairs down to the sleeping area with a bathroom of 3.5 m2 with shower, wash basin and toilet.
