Creuse, Limousin (Center)
Magnificent period home with well-stocked lake and holiday business
Set in almost 6 hectares of beautiful Creusoise countryside, our home has 5 bedrooms, three reception rooms, a well-stocked lake of one hectare and a two bedroomed gite (registered with Gites of France). This part of the Creuse is very quiet, little traffic passes the house and there are beautiful walks and bridle paths on the doorstep.
The main house has beamed ceilings and a huge inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove in the dining room, the sitting room has an open fireplace and in the kitchen/family room there is a Godin cuisiniere and matching electric cooker with gas burners.
In the main house is a bedroom with it's own sitting room and en-suite bathroom, separated from the part of the house and is used as a bed and breakfast suite, having views over the lake and grounds.
The gite is rented out from May to November and always booked during the summer months with many repeat visitors
Both the house and the gite have been recently rewired and decorated to a high standard.
The land is mainly managed flower meadow with gardens and a large potager with two poly tunnels. We grow all our vegetable biodynamically, hence no chemicals are used. There are two chicken houses and fenced runs. The barn is 16 metres long and over 6 metres wide (two storeys) and has a water supply and electricity, so could be converted to living space.
